Have you noticed the people in striped shirts all over our site? Those are our Campus Ambassadors and they are current students at UWEC who are passionate about this campus and the education they're receiving here. They'll show you around campus, pointing out their favorite study spots, hangouts, and giving you the scoop on the best places to get food on campus. Their intimate knowledge of campus life is the best way to see if UWEC is the right school for you!
One of the many things I value about being a Blugold are the countless opportunities students have both in and outside of the classroom. By ensuring small class sizes, having supportive professors, and promoting student-faculty research, UW-Eau Claire strives to see every student succeed academically. Outside of the classroom, UW-Eau Claire provides various opportunities for students to get involved both on campus and in the community. Whether it is through student organizations, intramural sports, or study abroad, there is something for every student!
Being a Blugold goes far beyond giving a fun name to everyone who attends this university. Being a Blugold means having the chance to challenge yourself to grow in all aspects of life by collaborating with incredible faculty, traveling the world with friends, attending study groups in cozy coffee shops, singing your heart out in a choir, and catching up with your roommates over food. Being a Blugold is definitely more than just a title to me. It's been the best experience of my life.
Being a Blugold has given me the foundation in which I can aspire to be everything I've ever dreamed I could be. The first time I walked onto the UW-Eau Claire campus, I felt inspired to meet the expectations of college. UWEC not only has encouraged me to meet these expectations, but it makes it possible for myself and my fellow Blugolds to do so. We are provided with endless opportunities and surrounded by a supportive environment that allows us to succeed and achieve our dreams.
As soon as I set foot on UW-Eau Claire’s campus, I knew this was the school for me and my future home away from home. I could easily picture myself as a Blugold. As a student at UW-Eau Claire, I have been given countless opportunities to experience new things, increase my knowledge in areas that I am interested in, and grow as a person. There are so many opportunities available here that I was able to find the perfect fit for me!
One of the best things about UWEC is its commitment to each student’s success. Thanks to our positive atmosphere, supportive professors, and endless opportunities for growth both in and out of the classroom, we’re able to pursue our passions while preparing to make our mark on the world. UWEC’s dedication to excellence makes being a Blugold hard to beat!
I believe that being a Blugold is all about exploration and finding your passions. I have found my passions through my classes, peers, professors, bosses, and through travel. I strongly believe that college is a time for individual growth, and at UW-Eau Claire I have grown immensely as a person. Being a Blugold has provided me with so many unique opportunities and experiences that I would not have had anywhere else!
For me UW-Eau Claire is the 'whole package'. Not only is it a place to learn, it's a community where there are unlimited opportunities.
UW-Eau Claire is such a friendly and supportive campus that it allows every student to have meaningful relationships with faculty, other students, and the community. As a Blugold I have learned so much from my professors and other students, and about myself. These relationships and experiences have helped me become who I am today.
To me, being a Blugold means endless opportunities with a great community to support all the adventures and challenges we face.
I love being a Blugold because of the community here at Eau Claire. Everyone is welcoming, and it really is my home. There are so many organizations to be involved in and opportunities to make your mark on campus. Because UW-Eau Claire is a liberal arts school, I feel prepared for my life beyond it.
One of the greatest aspects of UW-Eau Claire are the limitless opportunities students are exposed to. As a Political Science and Latin American Studies double major, I have interned with the Latin American News Digest and, currently, UW-Eau Claire Admissions and the State Public Defender's Office; collaborated with faculty on various research projects (national and international) with the financial support from both of my departments, ORSP, and the McNair Program; mentored first-year students through the First Year Experience; and volunteered with two non-profit community organizations (Joining Our Neighbors, Advancing Hope and El Centro de Conexion). All of these opportunities were presented to me by the amazing faculty in Latin American Studies and Political Science.
Becoming a Blugold has opened up so many doors for me. I was nervous about going to college and being on my own, but UWEC made me feel right at home. Everyone is friendly and wants to see you flourish. There are so many great opportunities that UWEC offers for all of its students to make sure you graduate with everything you need to become a successful person.
Being a Blugold means so much more to me than just being a student. I feel as if I am part of a community on campus, through relationships that I have built with peers and faculty of the university. This university is able to provide so many opportunities for growth and development to all students. These opportunities are in such a wide array of areas that everyone has a chance to find their own identity on campus.
When I'm asked what it means to be a Blugold, it's simple. It's a place where you can come in crawling and leave flying. "If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
