Institute for Health Sciences
Focusing on the health sciences
Claire has a long history of providing students interested in pursuing a future
in health sciences with a quality education. To continue to build on this
success, Dr. Mel Kantor was brought to campus as the Oliver M. Ramsey Endowed Chair to form the
Institute for Health Sciences. The goals of providing high quality advising and
innovative learning experiences for students are at the core of the
institute. Watch the video below to

Blugold earns national honors for outstanding leadership in science
Last spring, UW-Eau Claire alumna Dr. Katie Kindt, a 2000 biochemistry/molecular biology graduate, was recognized by then-President Barack Obama for her outstanding leadership in science. During a White House celebration, the president presented Kindt with a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor given by the U.S. government to science and engineering professionals early in their research careers.
"My goal as chair is to promote multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations in the areas of curriculum, research, scholarship and service, as well as develop and strengthen linkages with regional health care providers."
-Dr. Mel Kantor
Collaborations across campus
Several departments and programs across campus are innovatively working together to prepare students for their futures. Our goal is to continually build and improve on the connections between health-related and non-health-related disciplines in order to provide Blugolds with unique interdisciplinary opportunities.
