Colleen Marchwick | Peace Corps volunteerBeing a Peace Corps volunteer has defined my life in so many ways. I view the Peace Corps as my entry-level international job. For me it helped me fund my graduate degree and led to my career in international education. For many of my friends, it led to international careers with the U.S. State Department, public health department or international development organizations.
Students interested in becoming part of the Peace Corps Prep Program must submit an application to Liberal Studies Steering Committee. In your application, you will be asked to outline what work sector you would like to pursue as a Peace Corps Volunteer as well as how you plan to fill the course and practical experience requirements during your time at UW-Eau Claire.
UW-Eau Claire is partnering with the Peace Corps to offer a certificate program that will help ensure that Blugolds can graduate with the skills they need to become Peace Corps volunteers or to pursue a career in international development.
When Ian Allen graduated in 2011, he took with him degrees in Spanish and political science as well as valuable knowledge gained by studying abroad in Spain and Nicaragua.
